Participants in this program will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of child development, technology, and business strategy to real-world projects. The objective is to identify practical, scalable solutions that improve the accessibility, quality, and efficiency of childcare services. Learners will collaborate in small teams to tackle challenges presented by industry professionals, leveraging their skills to deliver impactful results within a limited timeframe.

Expected outcomes and deliverables
  • Identify current county resources and identify gaps and challenges using benchmarking on a national, state, and regional scale.  
  • Review current models of childcare options including staffing, cost, and physical footprint, including maximum number of participants.  
  • Review current childcare regulations (federal, state, and county) including location, staffing, education provided, nutrition, and physical layout. Identify funding or policy changes could support sustainable childcare solutions
  • Identify financial resources for families, businesses, and childcare organizations to support growth and sustainability.
  • Recommend how to improve on current strategies and implement new models/partnerships based on leading practices.
  • Optional/Future-Engage with key stakeholders-employers/childcare providers and parents
  • The student team will deliver a comprehensive report, business strategy, and future stakeholder engagement plan outlining practical, innovative childcare solutions tailored to Lebanon County’s unique needs.
